My family immigrated to the USA from Egypt in 1969. My mother was passionate about cooking and instilled our cuisine and traditions in her 4 girls. Being the eldest of the girls, I had the opportunity to watch her and learn. I have always enjoyed cooking and learning about foods. Years later when I married (my husband was also Egyptian), my love of our cuisine grew more passionate. My late husband loved to cook and we enjoyed many days comparing different dishes from both our families. I later went to Culinary school, where I studied all Cuisines. I do appreciate all cultures and their foods. But, I always go back to My Egyptian cuisine which brings back so many fond memories of my family. My culinary career led to the path of teaching. On this path, I found my passion for sharing my techniques and cuisine with my students. Nothing gives me greater joy than sharing my passion with others.
