Description

Overview:

Honey cakes or Medovik are one of the most popular cakes in Russia.  This is a multi-layered cake of flat biscuits (cookies) with a creamy, caramel filling.  The cake has cookie type layers that can range from 5 to 10 layers.  The cake was created in the 19th century in the Russian Empire by a young chef who sought to impress Empress Elizabeth Alexeievna, wife of Alexander I.  Medovik gained its intense popularity during the Soviet era.

My 10-year-old son & I loved this class. Olga is a great chef and teacher. I could not believe my 10 years could make his own fruit salad. Her presentation was spot on. I would highly recommend it!!

My daughter had such a great time with Olga making crepes. We were given the ingredient list in advance, so we were set up nicely when the class began. Olga was friendly, very responsive to questions, asked everyone to show what they made, etc. Very interactive and enjoyable. In addition to the guidance and experience...the recipe itself was REALLY enjoyed. My daughter thought they were delicious and was so proud to share with the family! We look forward to signing up again for another class!!
